María del Pilar Martínez-Costa Pérez

María del Pilar Martínez-Costa is director of the Journalism Projects Department of the School of Communication at Universidad de Navarra, where she has 25 years of experience as professor, researcher, and manager in areas such as broadcasting communication and journalism.
She is Associate Professor of Journalism and focuses her research on processes of conception, production, diffusion, and commercialization of radio in the digital environment, within the research line “Communication and new technologies” of Universidad de Navarra.
Her book La radio en la era digital (El País Aguilar, 1997) was a pioneer in the study of digital media in Spain and Europe. On this topic, she has published several papers and scientific studies, and participated in congresses in Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Belgium, United Kingdom, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Chile and United States.
She participated in six competitive research projects and, currently, she is Main Researcher of the project “Informative uses and preferences in the new media map in Spain”, co-funded by the Ministry of Economy, Competitiveness and the European Fund of Regional Development, CSO2015-64662-C4-1-R.
