<meta name="DC.Description" lang="en" content=“Revista Latina de Comunicación Social, RLCS, is a scientific journal edited at the University of La Laguna, ULL (Tenerife, Canary Islands) in the Laboratory of Information Technologies and New Analysis of Communication, LATINA according to its initials in Spanish, founded in 1987 by Dr. José Manuel de-Pablos-Coello, under the protection of special doctorate programmes for Latin American professors. The journal publishes under the main summary almost exclusively research papers written following the formula IMR&DC+B: introduction, methodology, results and discussion plus conclusion, with a updated bibliography: at least 70% of the bibliographic entries must be from the past 10 years and half of them from scientific journals in Spanish and English languages. Reviewers make a double blind peer examination. This is a collective and inter-university project, including many professors and researchers from almost all Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries. The journal is the following databases: EBSCO (USA), DOAJ (Lund University, Sweden), Redalyc (Mexico), Dialnet (Spain); and is indexed by the CINDOC-CSIC in DICE, ISOC, RESH, Office of Latin American Education, OEI according to its initials in Spanish; Dulcinea, etc. In Spain the journal is a reference in the Directory of Index of Spanish Periodicals of Social and Communication Sciences, IN-RECS, of the University of Granada, UGR. RLCS occupies the first position in the cumulative index for the periods 2003-2007; 2004-2008 and the year 2008.”/>

<meta name="DC.contributor.referee II" content="The paper can be published provided it takes into account the considerations made in his day. In general terms, this is a good research work that analyses in depth the content, use, characteristics, and weaknesses of five blogs written by political leaders from Aragon. It presents a form suitable for the analysis of the content and the formal aspects of blogs, which is applicable not only to the reality of Aragon but that of any other community. This research presents blogs as a rich and innovative tool for political communication. This research tries to establish a number of factors related to digital communication carried out by politicians, particularly communication through the use of blogs. This article is based on the understanding of the relationship between politicians and citizens as a relationship of interaction. It presents some interesting conclusions. It encourages political parties to use of blogs and other digital tools, not only in elections season to improve the reputation of political leaders, but steadily, and especially in moments of particular interest to the public. The study shows that the use of blogs by Aragonese politicians has ceased to be a simple transitory phenomenon and has become a reality. The study also confirms that blogs are used mostly as a pre-election tool and to a lesser extent as an element of communication to promote democracy. It has been observed that political blogs are used to help to overcome crises and compensate negative opinions caused by questionable actions.- KoldoMesoAyerdi, Ph.D. - University of the Basque Country."/>

<meta name="DC.description.abstract" content="Abstract: This research presents blogs as an innovative and rich tool for political communication. Blogs may be able to provide a new two-way communication and true interaction between citizens and politicians. The article analyses the content, use and characteristics in-depth of five weblogs of Aragonese politicians. The study detects a few weaknesses in the current use of blogs by politicians. However, it finally encourages political parties to use blogs and some other online resources to rekindle the reputation of political leaders not only during electoral campaigns but more often, especially in situations of crisis and some other special moments of interest for the citizenship. The study proves that the use of blogs by Aragonese politicians is not a weird phenomenon anymore and it has become a true reality. Also, it is stated that the blog function is mostly pre-electoral, and it is not an element of communication used often to promote democracy. It has been observed the existence blogs by politicians as a tool to overcome crisis or pot-holes. Blogs are used to compensate negative opinions result of certain awkward actions."/>
