Núria Almiron-Roig holds a Ph.D. in Journalism from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and B.A. degrees in Communication Sciences and Political Sciences also from the University of Barcelona.
She was a professor at the Department of Journalism of the Autonomous University of Barcelona from 2002 to 2008, and since September 2008 she is a professor at the Department of Communication of the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), where she teaches Structure of Social Communication.
She has undertaken research stays in the United Kingdom (University of Manchester, University of Westminster, London School of Economics and Political Science), France (Paris 8 University) and the Netherlands (University of Amsterdam).
She is a member of the Research Unit on Audiovisual Communication (Unica) of the Pompeu Fabra University and a collaborator of the Institute of Communication (Incom) of the University of Barcelona.
She worked as specialised journalist from 1993 to 2004 and is the author of several academic and journalistic books that can be located on her website: http://www.almiron.org. Her last work is Journalism in crisis. Corporate Media and Financialization (NJ, USA: Hampton Press, 2010). |
