<meta name="DC.Description" lang="en" content=“Revista Latina de Comunicación Social, RLCS, is a scientific journal edited at the University of La Laguna, ULL (Tenerife, Canary Islands) in the Laboratory of Information Technologies and New Analysis of Communication, LATINA according to its initials in Spanish, founded in 1987 by Dr. José Manuel de-Pablos-Coello, under the protection of special doctorate programmes for Latin American professors. The journal publishes under the main summary almost exclusively research papers written following the formula IMR&DC+B: introduction, methodology, results and discussion plus conclusion, with a updated bibliography: at least 70% of the bibliographic entries must be from the past 10 years and half of them from scientific journals in Spanish and English languages. Reviewers make a double blind peer examination. This is a collective and inter-university project, including many professors and researchers from almost all Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries. The journal is the following databases: EBSCO (USA), DOAJ (Lund University, Sweden), Redalyc (Mexico), Dialnet (Spain); and is indexed by the CINDOC-CSIC in DICE, ISOC, RESH, Office of Latin American Education, OEI according to its initials in Spanish; Dulcinea, etc. In Spain the journal is a reference in the Directory of Index of Spanish Periodicals of Social and Communication Sciences, IN-RECS, of the University of Granada, UGR. RLCS occupies the first position in the cumulative index for the periods 2003-2007; 2004-2008 and the year 2008.”/>

<meta name="DC.contributor.referee I" content="One of the main values of this research is that it analyses the concept of objectivity from a perspective that allows us to understand the factors that influence journalists’ professional daily work. At the same time, being a comparative research between the news-making processes in two different countries, the study reflects the different working practices and routines in each country, which enriches the results. It is a rigorous and well founded research study with an adequate methodology and objectives. The conclusions are enriching and offer information that facilitate the understanding of the factors on which the Swiss and Spanish journalists depend. For all of this, I recommend the publication of this article.– Xosé Soengas, Ph.D. – Senior Lecturer of Audiovisua Communication – University of Santiago de Compostela."/>

<meta name="DC.contributor.referee II" content="The article fundamentally starts out from the point of view of the sources and examines the application of the concept of objectivity within printed political journalism. The hypotheses are confirmed with the substantial results obtained from the comparative analysis of the varying levels of appreciation of the theoretical concepts of interventionism, power distance and market orientation within the institutional roles of journalists.
The qualitative study shows the different ways in which the Swiss and Spanish journalists conceive the concept of objectivity. The study is based on personal interviews with news professionals from El Mundo and Neue Zürcher Zeitung. The application of Hanitzsch’s dimensions of analysis and Weischenberg’s model is especially adequate as theoretical framework for the empirical application of the analysis. For all of this, I recommend the publication of the article in the RLCS.– Carmen Marta, Ph.D. – University of Zaragoza."/>

<meta name="DC.description.abstract" content="Abstract: This research is been carried out in order to analyse the different perceptions of the professional roles and objectivity journalists from two different quality newspapers have. We measure journalistic culture using the model signed by Hanitzsch (2007). We create our own model of analysis and we applied it to 19 journalists. We have carried out qualitative interviews between journalists from El Mundo (Madrid, Spain) and Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ) from Zurich (Switzerland). Results show some evidences of two different journalism cultures but also some similarities in the perception that journalists have of their own role and how they conceive objectivity in information."/>
