<meta name="DC.Description" lang="en" content=“Revista Latina de Comunicación Social, RLCS, is a scientific journal edited at the University of La Laguna, ULL (Tenerife, Canary Islands) in the Laboratory of Information Technologies and New Analysis of Communication, LATINA according to its initials in Spanish, founded in 1987 by Dr. José Manuel de-Pablos-Coello, under the protection of special doctorate programmes for Latin American professors. The journal publishes under the main summary almost exclusively research papers written following the formula IMR&DC+B: introduction, methodology, results and discussion plus conclusion, with a updated bibliography: at least 70% of the bibliographic entries must be from the past 10 years and half of them from scientific journals in Spanish and English languages. Reviewers make a double blind peer examination. This is a collective and inter-university project, including many professors and researchers from almost all Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries. The journal is the following databases: EBSCO (USA), DOAJ (Lund University, Sweden), Redalyc (Mexico), Dialnet (Spain); and is indexed by the CINDOC-CSIC in DICE, ISOC, RESH, Office of Latin American Education, OEI according to its initials in Spanish; Dulcinea, etc. In Spain the journal is a reference in the Directory of Index of Spanish Periodicals of Social and Communication Sciences, IN-RECS, of the University of Granada, UGR. RLCS occupies the first position in the cumulative index for the periods 2003-2007; 2004-2008 and the year 2008.”/>

<meta name="DC.contributor.referee I" content=" The article analyses the presence and level of communicational activity of Spanish MPs in the most-used social network in Spain.This is, firstly, an investigation conducted at a particularly appropriate time, i.e. after Barak Obama inaugurated the era of political communication through the network with his victory in the 2008 election.In my opinion, one of the aspects that deserve particular praise is the methodology designed by the authors for their analysis. The methodology is not just perfectly adapted to their research objectives, but is also creative since it uses participant observation techniques which are not usual, such as the design of a fake Facebook profile that allowed them to interact in the network and gain access to first-hand data. Moreover, the analysis variables proved to be suitable and very effective because with them the authors managed to offer a fairly accurate picture of the use of the Web 2.0 among Spanish MPs.Still, the methodological rigour is not the only quality of this article. Personally I am very interested in the contribution made by the authors through the concept of “Commitment 2.0”. The arguments have the virtue of returning to academic research the old role of proponent of forward-looking visions that are useful to society. In this sense, this article makes two contributions of great interest to the field of political communication:a) Explicitly indicating the type of online communicational activity that the field of Political Communication should implement from now on in order to keep their theoretical assumptions updated, and b) Putting in evidence the lack of real communication through social network among our politicians and citizens. <meta name="DC.contributor.referee II" content=" The article is a rigorous study of the attitudes of actors with relevant social projection in political communication management in areas initially intended for interpersonal communication. In general terms, it is a good quantitative and qualitative analysis measuring the stated presences (in the Congress’s official website) and the real presences (search of all the MPs) in the social network with the highest number of users in Spain of all the 350 Spanish MPs, a group theoretically inclined towards communication dynamics that represent visibility, proximity and acceptance of the message.The study confirmed a low level of acceptance of social networks as scenario for communicative meetings between politicians and citizens, in contrast to what both groups stated in previous studies of declaration of intentions on the use of social networks as a virtual meeting point, which is referenced in this research. The research also provides a scale to evaluate the communicational and relational dynamics in the virtual spaces through a) the proactive attitudes in the generation of own messages, and b) the stimulation of feedback from receivers of the messages posted on the social network by politicians. The study demonstrates a low level of Commitment 2.0, the term proposed by the authors to refer to the attitude of use of social networks as active, dynamic and interactive users.There is a solid methodology that denotes its statistical rigour since it extended the sample to match the totality of a small universe. The descriptive and analytical results are a first reading to approach the role and use of social networks in the dynamics of communication in what has been coined as cyberdemocracy, with a correct theoretical framework and the analysis of the relationship between networks and political marketing and an adequate and up-to-date bibliography.We recommend its publication. <meta name="DC.description.abstract" content="Abstract: In the actual society the organizations that don’t use new supports and cybernetics technical of communication are predictably addressed to the failure. In this virtual sphere the social networks become a resource and a suitable channel for the implementation of the political marketing 2.0, creating a stage where the interaction with the users is possible. From this perspective, we have developed a follow-up of the 350 deputies of the Spanish Congress in Facebook, the most popular social network in the country, with the aim of ascertaining the presences and their typologies, frequencies of update, contents, resources and kind of published information. We also studied the interactiviness showed by the deputy, using a concept that we have patented: Commitment 2.0, the political communication in personal surroundings like the social networks demands to go from the participatory attitude to the action to participate; that is to say, to engage with the interaction 2.0 like the correct behaviour in the network."/>
